Spectacular Spaces: The Missouri Botanical Garden

One of the main focal points of many weddings, is the flowers. What type of flowers the bride carries in her bouquet, or what type of flowers are used in the décor. Flowers bring color and natural beauty to any wedding ceremony or reception.

This week, in our Spectacular Spaces series, we will take a look at a venue that has so many beautiful flowers and plants of its own, you won’t have to bring in many of your own.

Of course, we are talking about the Missouri Botanical Garden!

Whether you want to hold only the ceremony, only the reception or both there, the botanical garden has many different packages to suit all of your wedding needs.

Couples can choose from three different ceremony spaces within the garden. Those include the stone-pillar gazebo located above the serene butterfly garden, the deck over the pond with guests seated on the water’s edge or the tented pavilion nestled against the lake at the Butterfly House.

The Missouri Botanical Garden’s wedding season runs from May to mid-October, and they can accommodate weddings with up to 150 guests.

Prices range from a $1,000 facility rental fee for a reception only, on a weekday, to a $2,900 facility rental fee for a Saturday wedding ceremony and reception.

All reception packages include private use of the Missouri Botanical Garden from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for a reception or a ceremony with reception. The bridal party will get access to the Bride’s Room. Dining tables and chairs will be provided for up to 150 guests.

The botanical garden requires couples to use one of six approved caterers. The list includes Artistic Affairs Catering, Hendri’s Catering, Local Harvest, Noodles & Company, Patty Long Catering, Russo’s Gourmet Catering or Villa Farotto Catering.

Couples are welcome to bring in small bands or DJs to entertain their guests.
